Merry Christmas 2012

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

In loving memory of the men and women who served and fought for our country to protect our freedom.

Spirits are alive,
on hallows’ eve
Witches are out
and flying about
Casting spells,
wishing you well.

R.I.P. Amanda

Hello everyone….It’s been ages since I’ve been here on wordpress. Although, this was not my way of coming back here to blog, I felt that is story hit close to home as I live in the same area as this girl even though I did not know her. I was heartbroken when I read and watch a video about a young girl, named Amanda Todd, who took her own life on Wednesday, October 10, just over a month after posting a video on You Tube about the harassment and bullying that she endured when a man convinced her to expose her breasts when she was in the seventh grade. Even though her family moved to start fresh again, the bullying did not stop.

Cyber bullying or any type of bullying is a serious crime that needs to be addressed to help protect the innocent ones. Please sign this petition to help change the cyber crime laws for our children’s future and that no one has to go through what Amanda has gone through. One signature at a time will help make a difference in today’s society.

Year of the Dragon

January 23, 2012 is the Year of the Dragon. Chinese New Year is an important holiday in the Chinese culture. This festive holiday is all focus on bringing good luck for the New Year and celebrating the coming of spring. It is celebrated in countries such as Canada and China and is also known as the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year. According to the lunar calendar, it marks the first day of the New Year.

Each Chinese New Year celebration is associated with one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. The signs in the Chinese zodiac are similar to the ones in the western zodiac which also have twelve signs. The difference between the two is that Chinese astrology follows the cycles of the moon and based on the lunar cycle it takes twelve years to complete the cycle. Your zodiac sign is based on the year you were born. Western astrology follows the cycles of the sun and is based on a twelve month cycle. Your zodiac sign is based on the month you were born.

New Year, New Beginning

Another year has gone by, as a new one begins. A brand new year with a fresh start, new hopes and dreams to be fulfilled.

I wish you all happiness, health, prosperity and success in the New Year.
